American Water is partnering with ChemWare, one of the largest LIMS companies in the United States specialising in commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) environmental and water quality applications, to improve the work of its central laboratory. Since its opening in 1981, the lab has been conducting drinking water analysis and quality measurements. The central laboratory and remote utility labs will now use ChemWare's Horizon LIMS.
American Water's central laboratory in Belleville, USA, will be able to
- automate and manage all aspects of its laboratory information systems;
- access information from its remote labs, including scheduling of sample delivery, reporting on-demand, and sampling and analysis programmes;
- integrate with other data management systems within the labs; and
- provide for growth and change in future laboratory practices.
