IPG Automotive is integrating the complete Sherpa-Engine model library, from Sherpa Engineering, into its vehicle dynamics software, CarMaker.
CarMaker is used for real time vehicle simulation, based on both detailed vehicle and driver models. The new update will allow the test of motor controllers as well as different motor architectures during a virtual test drive. The new library can be used to evaluate factors like the performance, drivability and fuel consumption of the car.
Alexander Schmidt, managing director of IPG, said: ‘The integration of the Sherpa motor models into CarMaker offers excellent possibilities to test realistically the interaction between motor, controller, and the vehicle in different driving situations.’
