Laboratory automation specialist Labtronics has signed a partnership agreement with BioGenex Laboratories to interface their i6000 and Xmatrx automated staining systems to LIMS and LIS systems.
BioGenex Laboratories develops sophisticated staining systems for clinical diagnostics and research laboratories. In recent years the company has seen an increase in customer demand for advanced integration between its instruments and LIMS and LIS systems. BioGenex has partnered with Labtronics to provide LimsLink as the standard interfacing solution, thereby providing an improved product offering to its customers.
Labtronics states that its LimsLink interface has been a standard in the industry for many years, with a proven track record for providing advanced interfaces between any instrument and any LIMS or LIS system. The latest version of LimsLink provides standard methods that simplify the implementation of the connection. It also provides back end database support that will provide customers with instrument analytics.
BioGenex customers have a need to store reports from the instrument, and, according to Labtronics, most LIMS or LIS do not support this functionality. Since LimsLink includes Nexxis SDMS, a scientific data management system, BioGenex is now able to solve this problem for its customers.
Robert Pavlis, president of Labtronics commented: 'We are very excited to work with a company like BioGenex who supplies instruments to some of the world's largest hospitals. By combining our two technologies we will be able to provide a complete solution to these customers.'
