Silicon Mechanics, a manufacturer of rackmount servers, storage, and high-performance computing hardware, has been designated as a Cloud Builder Alliance Partner by Seagate, a provider of storage solutions.
As a Cloud Builder Alliance Partner, Silicon Mechanics will design, integrate, and sell shared storage for virtualisation, using the Silicon Mechanics zStax unified storage appliance.
Powered by NexentaStor, a NAS/SAN software platform, Seagate says the zStax family of storage management solutions delivers high-capacity unified storage, while lowering the total cost of ownership for cloud-based storage infrastructures.
The zStax software-defined storage model is deployed on enterprise-class, industry standard hardware. Silicon Mechanics relies on Seagate enterprise SAS hard drives, with speeds from 7.2K to 15K RPM, for fast and reliable storage. The zStax unified storage appliance family of products is ideal for applications ranging from archival storage to enterprise Tier 1 implementations.
'Seagate is delighted to welcome Silicon Mechanics as a Cloud Builder Alliance Partner, which will help them deliver custom, flexible, and scalable server and storage solutions for the cloud,' said Mark Wojtasiak, senior global marketing manager of Seagate.
'Working with Seagate’s broad portfolio of enterprise products, Silicon Mechanics will be able to offer custom configurations to meet any specific customer application need.'
