Strand Life Sciences has appointed Thon de Boer, formerly of Agilent Technology, as its senior director of product management, software. His primary responsibilities at Strand will include managing and expanding Strand's software product portfolio activities from concept to customer and providing strategic direction for software product development.

De Boer's experience includes more than 14 years of hands-on experience in product management, as a researcher and manager in both international research institutes and commercial enterprises. He is an undergraduate in biology and a PhD in molecular biology from VU University, Amsterdam.
