Labvantage has announced that a renowned university medical centre has gone live with its laboratory information management system (LIMS). Consisting of over 10 core laboratories, the institute processes an extremely high volume of samples for RNAi, genomics testing, small animal imaging, transgenics, proteomics, flow cytometry and microscopy. The centre required a reliable application to manage its processes, from submission to billing, for multiple hospitals and research units.
The solution that emerged from the Labvantage early access module called StoreFront integrates Labvantage with PeopleSoft for financials, InfoEd for electronic research administration and Topaz for clinical protocol management. StoreFront provides administration functionality for service management, request and submission management, scheduling, data delivery, and invoicing and billing for all cores.
In this initial phase, StoreFront went live on the Apple Safari browser and included complex instrument integration, interfacing to numerous external systems, advanced reporting and analytics. Moving forward, subsequent phases will include the implementation of the Labvantage BioBanking solution to manage the centre’s multiple biorepositories.
