Boxx Technologies has announced that its hardware solutions will now feature Intel Core i7-4960X processor Extreme Edition, Intel Core i7-4930K, i7-4820K, and Intel Xeon Processor E5-2600 v2 technologies. These latest Intel ‘Ivy Bridge-E’ processors will provide significant performance increases and configuration options for 3DBoxx 4900 and 8900 series workstations, as well as renderBoxx and renderPro dedicated rendering modules. Boxx is among the first hardware manufacturers to offer systems featuring the new micro architectures.
In the Intel Xeon-based 3DBoxx 8900 series workstations, users will now be able to configure a wide range of workstation options up to 24 core system. With hyper-threading, this system provides up to 48 virtual cores for multitasking within the most demanding workflows. 24 cores are also available in the rack-mounted renderBoxx and deskside renderPro, providing the dedicated rendering modules with what the company says is unparalleled rendering capacity. The increase in cores also allows for better workstation customisation, while users who require Intel Core i7 processors may no longer be forced to move to a dual processor system in order to increase system performance.
