IPG Automotive and AVL have launched the driving dynamics simulation platform, CarMaker with an interface for the powertrain simulation tool AVL Cruise.
The solution is fully available and enables for the first time the simulation of the multi-dimensional losses of individual vehicle components in realistic driving situations.
Both partner companies offer a unique continuous simulation solution to raise potential for an efficient use of energy considering both security and comfort at the same time.
Lifelike driving manoeuvres enable the establishment of a balance sheet of the power loss for all subsystems like suspension, steering, brakes, tires, masses and aerodynamics as well as motor, gearbox, differential, auxiliary equipment and the battery. Thus the interaction of components can be detected and powertrain systems, as well as driving dynamics systems can be adjusted relative to one another in the complete vehicle be it in longitudinal, transversal or vertical dynamics cycles.
CarMaker/CRUISE is suitable for office applications as well as for Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation (HIL) on test benches for controllers, motor or powertrain. Thanks to the sophisticated CarMaker models for driver, traffic and 3D-roads, manoeuvres on the handling course can be recreated reproducibly just as well as urban drives, interurban drives or motorway drives to which any driving situation can be added with IPGTraffic.
