Horizon Quantum Computing announces plans for European expansion

Horizon Quantum Computing, a Singapore-based company building software development tools to unlock the potential of quantum computing hardware, has today announced its plans to set up its European office in Ireland.

Horizon Quantum Computing’s expansion is part of its growth plan to leverage skilled quantum computing and software engineering talent in the region. It looks to benefit from the wealth of talent and serve customers in Europe, one of the world's major markets for quantum computing.

Headed up by Irishman Joe Fitzsimons, Horizon Quantum Computing is opening a brand new office in Dublin, its first outside Singapore. The office paves the way for recruiting over 10 new roles over the next six months, which is already underway. The company is hiring for a range of positions, including product managers as well as a director of engineering, who will build and lead a new software engineering team.

Horizon Quantum Computing also plans to partner with local Universities to provide internship opportunities.

“We are excited to set up our European office in Ireland, a country with a substantial pool of technical talent,” said Joe Fitzsimons, CEO of Horizon Quantum Computing. “Our growth highlights the strength of the quantum computing ecosystem at a time when major tech players are struggling. We’re looking forward to calling Dublin our second home and rolling out further recruitment to boost worldwide operations.”

Committed to supporting mutual connections and collaborations between Singapore and Ireland, Horizon Quantum Computing has recently become a Foundation sponsor of the Irish Chamber of Commerce Singapore, with Dr Fitzsimons joining the Chamber’s board.
