Labtronics has released the latest version of its Nexxis ELN, its electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) for routine analyses. Nexxis ELN provides a fast way to replace current paper-based systems with electronic documents and forms that can be managed online using the Nexxis web client.
A highlight of the release is enhanced integration between Nexxis ELN and scientific data management systems (SDMS) such as Nexxis SDMS. Completed Nexxis ELN worksheets can be stored in an SDMS and tagged with metadata, providing significantly expanded search and retrieval capabilities.
SOPs, forms and templates can be securely and centrally stored in an SDMS and then accessed directly by Nexxis ELN at run time, reducing administration effort related to versioning and controlling these documents.
Laboratories that have struggled with the management, long term storage and retrieval of paper forms will recognise the real value of having electronic access and control of documents and archived worksheets.
Another key highlight of this release is the addition of automated calculations to Labtronics' ReDI deployment technology. Nexxis ELN users can now quickly create electronic worksheets that eliminate the time spent on manual calculations and review. These calculations can utilise input from other fields on the worksheet or system variables. For example if a sample weight is entered at one point on the worksheet, a test result can be automatically corrected by that weight factor as soon as it is entered.
