SysFera has introduced a new version of its DS software (DS 4.0) aimed at enabling large companies and their computing centres to control costs and usage of their HPC resources by simplifying HPC infrastructure management and remote application usage.
The software features an improved remote-visualisation module enabling the adaptation to the end user-bandwidth, latency and also collaboration between distributed users. Extended support is also provided for cloud computing platforms such as OpenStack, OpenNebula public/private Clouds or the Amazon EC2 platform.
Other new features include an advanced statistics and reporting tool with real-time data exploration capabilities that allows billing to customers and business units depending on resources or applications usage. There is also a new quota management tool that allows computation hours to be assigned to HPC projects.
