Getting off to an early start at Pittcon 2011, Waters presented the heart of its biopharmaceutical system. Addressing workflows within a laboratory environment, the Unifi scientific information system is an interactive next-generation software platform that brings together all aspects of biotherapeutic analyses and workflows for high-resolution analytics throughout the development process. In addition to providing flexible instrument control, LC and MS data processing and mining, and reporting, the system can operate in a GxP-compliant environment.
Fully scalable and with a user-friendly, multi-language interface, the platform enables an easier transfer of information between departments. Speaking at the press conference, Mary Ellen Goffredo, senior director of systems marketing at Waters, commented that Unifi sets the stage for a major shift in informatics over the next five years.
